MY project
Hello everyone, I am currently raising funds to attend the summer academy in Linköping University, Sweden for a month, to study the course Drug Addiction, From Genes to Behaviour.
About me
You can call me Hui Xin or Giselle. I am a first year undergraduate student in the University of Essex. I am an international student from Malaysia. I am extremely grateful and fortunate that I was given an opportunity to take up a summer course in Sweden. Being far away from home, I would really like to make use of all the chances and opportunities that are given to me to explore and learn something new.
my story
The reason I chose the course Drug Addiction, From Genes to Behaviour is because I feel that drug addiction is really something worth further exploration. Is it really a choice for people to become an addict, or is the fate of becoming an addict sealed long ago in our genotype?
The science field is wide and endless. My future as of now is to become a Biomedical Scientist. As I explore further in the world of science, I often question myself if I would like to step out of my comfort zone just a little and just try on something that's relatively new but still related to what I do.
I would like to gain as much experience as I possibly can in all related fields so that I am able to make wiser decisions on which field of science that I am really interested in, and hopefully can contribute to in the future. Other than studying this course, I would also like to experience the culture, people and the country of Sweden.
Where will the money go?
Minimum Goal : £1000.00
- Accommodation package fees of £500
- Flight tickets from United Kingdom to Sweden at £100
- Meals and Expenses at the estimation of £400
Stretch Goal : £1500.00 ( All the one listed above and the following )
- Field trip organised by the school £200
- Flight Tickets from Sweden back to Malaysia £300
